What to do: Dining and Cliff Diving at Rick’s Cafe

Hungry for some Caribbean and International cuisine blended in with an air of adventure, infused with the sounds of live reggae music and served from the best vantage point on the island of Jamaica to watch the sunset? Rick’s Cafe in Negril is the perfect spot for such a treat! Boasting an unrivaled view from atop its naturally formed cliffs at Negril’s West End, the cafe is open for food and drinks every day and night.

The menu includes tantalizing Buffalo Wings, Sheddy Shrimp, Jerk Chicken Skewers, The World Famous Rick’s Cafe Surf N’ Turf (buttered, seasoned, and broiled lobster served in concert with a juicy filet smothered in a sautéed mushroom cream sauce), Jamaican Shrimp Alfredo, Boobastic Banana Rum Cake and a host of other entrees, pastas and desserts too numerous to mention here. Your meal will come complete with your choice of delicious Tropitinis, Cabana Packages, Bottle Service and Specialty Drinks.

However while the food is to die for, without a doubt, the main attraction at Rick’s Cafe is the cliff jumping displays. You can either watch the professional cliff jumping displays or participate yourself if you’re feeling the daredevil spirit. Countless visitors and locals have jumped or dived from the cliff and into the crystalline water below. The highest platform jump is 35 feet and ensures the thrill of a lifetime, though some choose to jump from even higher points from tree limbs.

Be warned though that if you choose to jump from the cliff it is entirely AT YOUR OWN RISK. Only jump if you are a strong swimmer, in good health and have not been drinking alcohol. If you plan to jump you should research how to jump safely before you arrive in Negril. After the dive, guests will swim through one of the most incredible coves along the West End Cliffs before climbing back to the top.

Yet despite these spectacular thrills Rick’s Cafe is not all about the diving and the sunset. The cool lounge vibes come alive at night when the sky is blackened and the moon and stars reflect on the endless Caribbean sea. Guests can enjoy the ultimate, romantic Rick’s after dark experience, dining on the cliffs by moonlight. It’s guaranteed to keep you coming again and again.

Still haven’t heard enough? You can read more about “the dive of a lifetime” on the Jamaica Tourist Board’s website here!
