Pon Di Road Weekly Roundup: Pond Di Road (Season 2) # 5 – Boston Beach

Our favourite travel couple (and their recent addition to the family) have been having a world of a time exploring Jamaica’s lesser traveled Parish of Portland. So far we’ve seen Calee, Stephen and Nyla visit the enchanting Reach Falls, the seductive shores of Frenchmans Cove and even “The Jerk Capital of the World” Boston Bay.

On the brink of the premiere of yet another webisode of “Pon Di Road in Jamaica” let’s take a look back at last week’s webisode Pon Di Road (Season 2) #5 – Boston Beach. A trip to Boston Bay is not only a tantalizing treat for the taste buds it also appeals to sun worshipers and vacationers seeking to venture into the realm of water sports. The golden sands and rough waters will tempt you to grab a surfboard and ride the waves, take a lesson in wind surfing, or venture further out to some good snorkeling sites.

Boston Bay is also well known as one of the best surfing spots in Jamaica. Boasting the longest history of surfing in Jamaica people have been riding the waves here since the 1960′s. On really big days one can surf pass the rock outcropping on the left, which has a stair case. The horseshoe-shaped bay works both ways depending on the swell direction and when it’s on you can ride the current back out to the line-up to conserve energy. Boston Bay is also home to the islands first surf shop. Watch Stephen ride the waves as Calee takes her very first lesson in surfing!

Remember to tune in today at 5pm (EST) on our My Jamaica YouTube Channel for the premiere of a brand new webisode to see where these three will take us next!
