Wedding enthusiasts, service providers, photographers, videographers and lucky brides and grooms to be showed up in massive numbers to The Jamaica Pegasus Hotel in the island’s capital, Kingston for its highly anticipated annual Wedding Expo. Held from March 10-11, 2012 in the hotel’s Grand Jamaican Suite the event gave patrons the opportunity to peruse a number of booths while collecting all the information necessary for planning a dream wedding in Jamaica.
From fabric to jewellery, dresses, decor, bridal registries, venues and honeymoon packages, those in attendance had the chance to see stunning displays that only hinted at the vast possibilities of a Jamaican wedding. The Grand Exhibition also featured cakes, floral arrangements, beauty and grooming, video and photography services, hair and make-up shows and more from over 50 exciting exhibitors. Among the crowd favourites were Tai Flora, New Levels Decor, Petals & Promises, Future Events Ja, Island Gems and Quoture by Isabella.
The event kicked off on Saturday March 12 with a real Wedding Ceremony and featured a workshop/seminar, as well as an exclusive fashion show complete with of giveaways, prizes and surprises. Beautiful crystal chandeliers were illuminated as the bridal party made its way down the white-carpeted isle during the wedding ceremony on Saturday evening. Other notable items on display included one of the most important elements of any beautiful wedding, rings and accessories. The “American Jewelery Company”. “Hatitude Hats” were well received at the centre of Saturday evening’s exciting fashion show. While Sunday evening’s fashion show featured models strutting their stuff on the runway wearing gorgeous dresses from designers.
