- Kingston City Run-March 8-10, 2013: The inaugural Kingston City Run presents a weekend of pure adrenalin and fun incorporating two race events: a ½ Marathon 5K race/walk.  The weekend will kick off on Friday March 8, 2013 with a Welcome Carnival Party followed by a health fair and expo, a pre-race warm-up session on Saturday March 9 and race day on Sunday March 10.

-   Fat Tyre Festival- February 17-23, 2013: This is a 7 day mountain biking event designed to highlight Jamaica’s vibrant culture, unique geography and great riding trails! Over the years, the event has featured some of the world’s top mountain bikers – Cam McCaul, Kyle Ebbett, Katrina Strand and Kathy Pruitt. Are you up for the challenge? The Jamaica Fat Tyre Festival takes place in the hills of Jamaica’s north coast.

Rebel Salute 2013

The grounds of Richmond Estate in Ocho Rios were packed with reggae music lovers for the 20th anniversary of Rebel Salute. An exciting concert featuring the best in reggae music was the main feature of the 2-day event from January 18-19, 2013. The likes of Tony Rebel, The Jolly Boys, Queen Ifrica, Pluto Shervington, Ernie Smith, I-Wayne and many others gave stellar performances going into the early hours of the morning.

The 274th Accompong Maroon Festival

The Accompong Maroons celebrate the 275th anniversary of the historic Treaty of 1738 on January 6, 2013 on Jamaica’s south coast. Signed between the Maroons (Africans who were formerly enslaved by the Spanish) and the British after 83 years of failed re-enslavement and battles, the Treaty of 1738 granted the Maroons their own land and governing rights to the nation of Trelawny Maroons. The Maroon Festival will feature traditional dance, music and food as well as Maroon ceremonies at Accompong located in the rugged limestone mountain range called the Cockpit Country.

Run with us at Reggae Marathon 2012

Reggae Marathon 2012 is just 3 days away!

Join us in Negril on December 1, 2012 for Reggae Marathon, Half Marathon & 10k, Jamaica’s highly anticipated running event. Marathoners from 30 different countries will journey to Jamaica’s most western point this weekend for an unforgettable run in the sun. Named as one of the world’s best marathons, Reggae Marathon gives runners the winning combination of Negril’s 7 mile beach and laid back attitude, the rocking rhythms of reggae music and an unending push towards healthy lifestyles.

Kicking off the 2012 festivities is the JHTA World’s Best Pasta Party on November 30 at Couples Swept Away where participants can also make final registrations. Race day starts at 5:15 am and will see runners endure the looped course ending at Long Bay Beach Park with the Reggae Marathon Beach Bash.

CB Pan Chicken Grand Championships

November is sizzling with a variety of culinary events across the country. As Restaurant Week Jamaica closes for 2012 foodies can continue to treat their palates at the CB Pan Chicken Grand Championships tomorrow November 18, 2012. Twenty-six pan chicken specialists from around Jamaica will compete at Ocean Boulevard in Downtown Kingston. From 12pm- 8pm patrons can sample an array of tasty chicken dishes while enjoying the ocean breezes on Kingston’s waterfront.

Among the panel of experts who will select the Pan Chicken Champion of 2012 are two international chefs with years of cooking experience.  Spike Mendelsohn, also known as Chef Spike, will bring with him an in depth knowledge of good food from his experiences on Top Chef and Food Network’s Iron Chef. Trained in classic French Cuisine, Chef Spike is a 2 time contestant on Food Network’s Iron Chef: All Stars and will be starring in the upcoming Next Iron Chef: Redemption season.
