Tara Settembre found that out of all of her visits to Jamaica, her favorite experiences were off the beaten path. She’s gathered a list of where to eat and what to do that will be sure to transform a tourist into a true Jamaican at heart. From Murphy’s West End Restaurant in Negril to the more ubiquitous Scotchies Jerk Kitchen, these restaurants are by far some of the best on the island.
Tara even got to do some mineral spring cliff jumping at the Blue Hole in Ocho Rios, and she seemed to have a blast.
“After two tries, I finally took the plunge and jumped off the 25 foot cliff into the cool refreshing waters. You can also take the steep ladder down. After, scoop up the minerals from the limestone cavern and spread over your body for a healthy, natural scrub or book a mineral massage!”
There’s also swimming with sharks for the adventurous and cultural immersion volunteering at local schools for the philanthropic, along with load of other options.
