Energetic, stunning and exciting, Montego Bay on Jamaica’s north coast embodies a spirit that invites us all to come out and play. A definite favorite among travelers in search of a good time, the second city is a great place to have your fill of relaxation and revelry. Treat yourself to something special with selections from Mobay’s extensive list of hotels, attractions and nightclubs. There are options for every taste and budget in Jamaica’s “complete resort”.
With its sparkling white sand beaches, assortment of water sports activities and tours, pulsating nightlife and tantalizing cuisine Montego Bay is undoubtedly one of Jamaica’s most romantic destinations. Montego Bay’s Gloucester Avenue, also known as the “Hip Strip” is home to some famous spots ranging from sun-splashed shores awash with crystal-clear water to interesting shops offering a slice of authentic Jamaican apparel and restaurants that double as venues for events and amazing live entertainment. The Hip Strip is also known for some great Caribbean sunsets and tropical panoramic views of the bay.
There’s no doubt about it, the perfect end to a day is witnessing a majestic sunset pulling down the curtains on a beautiful blue sky. Watching the sunset paint new colors across the sky and sea is a favourite pastime for many Jamaicans particularly when the suns rays are reflected on the surface of a tranquil ocean.
An experience both soothing and awe-inspiring, a Jamaican sunset is not to be missed while vacationing on the island. The spectacular tropical vistas and green flash at sunset set the stage for memorable starlight dinners so it’s a perfect activity for couples on their honeymoon. Or simply a moment of introspection on a deck or a balcony. There are many places to witness this phenomenon all across the island, however there are of course a few select spots that offer a better vantage point than others. Here is a list of 5unset in Jamaica:
Calee and Stephen are obsessed with travelling and they’re on a quest to show the world just a small taste of all there is to do, see and taste in Jamaica. So far we’ve seen them climb the Dunn’s River Falls, go tubing on the White River, ride in an aerial canopy tour and take bobsled coaster ride through tropical rain forest (to name a few). Now it’s time to see where last week’s webisode took them in the Pon Di Road roundup!
After touring the famed (and reputedly haunted) Rose Hall Great House in Rose Hall St. James, the two head a little further West to do a little shopping on Montego Bay’s Gloucester Avenue, also known as the “Hip Strip”. The strip is home to some famous spots like Doctor’s Cave Beach, Jimmy Buffet’s Margaritaville, The Brewery, Aqua Sol Theme Park, the Blue Beat jazz lounge, the Coral Cliff Gaming Lounge and a host of great restaurants all set against a beautiful white-sand beach.
